Restorative Health Care, P.C. offers a
massage therapy technique called the Trager Approach. It is an extremely
gentle form of therapy that assists in mind/body integration and relaxation.
"Trager
work is one of the least invasive forms, using gentle rocking
and bouncing motions to induce states of deep, pleasant relaxation.
It helps the nervous system's communication with the muscles,
so that it can be used as a method of rehabilitation especially
by people suffering from traumatic injuries, post-polio syndrome,
and other chronic muscular problems."

When you begin your Trager Session, your
therapist will enter into a state of awareness that is similar
to meditation. From this deeper state of awareness, she
will use touch and movement to communicate with your body and
mind the feeling of an easier way of being and moving.
Your body is supported and gently moved
in a pain-free range and natural rhythm. During this therapy,
tensions disappear and new movement patterns become possible.
As part of your session, you will receive
instruction in Mentastics, the use of self-care movements.
With this knowledge, you can integrate Mentastics into your daily
life to enhance your feeling of flexibility, ease, and joy.
